Chapter 3 Release

12/15/2024

In this chapter, the thieving magpie (no relation) is encountered.

It's now been one full IA year. After finishing Black Magic Blues, I had intended to take some time for myself and not jump into a "next comic" right away. Black Magic Blues was 11 pages long, and I expected my next comic would be only a little longer.

On December 19, I started drawing a duck. This duck was based on an older duck I had drawn the year before, but that duck was more anthropomorphic. I found I wanted to draw the duck more. When the title "IA IA IA" came to mind, I decided I had to write the rest of the comic implied by the name. At a time like this, it would make sense to say "I was possessed by the duck."

I learned the comic would be longer than Black Magic Blues by a factor of 6 (maybe more). However, in the spirit of possession, I found in myself a limitless energy.

I enjoy drawing IA IA IA. There will be three more chapters following this. Please look forward to them.

In regards to the chapter 2 blog post, I found out in September that I have OCD and my symptoms have decreased dramatically with treatment. Sometimes, it's a mistake to seek certainty at the cost of everything else. I hope IA IA IA illustrates this in its own way.

As an exercise, I have written a short list of comics, books, films, albums, and other items that may be of interest to IA IA IA readers. This is not a straightforward list of endorsements - please think of it as a list of IA parents. The below is about half of the full list, the rest of which I will divulge in the future.

Chapter 3 of IA IA IA is here. Please enjoy it.
